Cell Groups

Many people in the 3 churches of Clifton parish belong to cell groups. These are small groups of 5 - 10 people who meet together each week in member's homes. The aim of the groups is so that people can:-

  • belong
  • get to know each other
  • learn together
  • be open to new people joining them

There are cell groups meeting on different days of the week, mostly evenings but daytime groups too. Anyone can join - young, old, in-between, church member or just interested!

What happens at a cell group meeting?

Meetings are friendly and informal. They follow a similar pattern each time they meet which we call the 4 'W' s.

  • Welcome: looking inward to the needs of group members.
  • Worship: looking upward to magnify God.
  • Word: receiving God's guidance.
  • Works: Looking outward to people in the community.

Groups also have social events together and sometimes groups join together.

What is cell church?

Cell Church is a world-wide movement. It encourages folk to meet in smaller groups, so that they can belong, get to know and support each other, learn together, and be open to new people joining them. The cell grows and in time multiplies to form two groups, which in turn have room for new people. So the cycle continues.

The Cell Group is like a small church. It has the DNA of the church. For some it is the way that they first make contact with the church. When we meet on Sundays it is a Celebration of Cell life together.

We invite all church members to be part of a Cell Group.
